Farmsgiving at The Hideaway
A special group of 60 special guests visited the The Hideaway on November 19th for our first annual Farmsgiving event.
This event featured a family-style menu inspired by our fresh seasonal harvest, special entertainment, signature cocktails, and more. Keep reading to learn more.
The Food
Our farm-to-table dining experience was on full display starting with welcome hors d’oeuvres and Champagne followed by a seasonal, farm-fresh menu, signature cocktails, and dessert crafted by Chef Risa.
Guests enjoyed a large format grazing board featuring local and farm fresh products like fish cakes, authentic tostones, and flavorful microgreens.
Farmsgiving dinner was served family-style and featured sous-vide turkey, saltbaked fresh catch, and homemade herbed focaccia, among many other unique dishes.
Sweet pineapples were plentiful during our fall harvest, and were served roasted alongside pecan crusted cheesecake and fresh fruit for a crowd pleasing dessert.
The Setting
Cocktail hour took place in the farm where guests could wander our full production, and see the ingredients they were sipping and eating in real time. After cocktail hour, we ushered guests back to our central lawn for a family style dinner where guests sat tucked away under luscious greens and a cozy ambiance, where they could take in all that The Hideaway Farm has to offer.
Designed to showcase Virgin Islands agriculture, we have cultivated over 50 varieties of plants, propagated most of the trees on-site, and featured a wide array of vegetables, fruit, flowers, and herbs!
The Guests
We could not have aptly celebrated and savored our seasonal harvest without the help of great family and friends!
From the wonderment of dining under a clear starry night sky, to the biggest charcuterie table we’ve ever seen on the island, to the banana leaf "tablecloth" that displayed bounties from our farm, guests soaked in every bit of The Hideaway culinary experience and left eager to join in on next year’s festivities!
The Entertainment
After welcome drinks and a quick stop at our festive photo booth, guests followed the unique sounds of a local steel pan artist deeper into the property. Once reaching the farm, guests grazed on our large format charcuterie table, relaxed in numerous lounge areas, and sipped on farm-based cocktails from our bar while enjoying the music.
