That’s just a small part of what makes our beachfront estate so special. Along with offering luxury accommodations, incredible amenities, and unparalleled hospitality, we are also committed to preserving our unique island landscape, culture, and history while supporting the local community.
We call this unique combination of sustainability and five-star hospitality “barefoot luxury,” and it guides everything we do. We’re committed to operating in the most environmentally friendly way possible to both minimize our environmental impact and leave our surroundings better than we found them.
This means employing locals (all of our staff are residents, and many are native Virgin Islanders), working with nature, increasing biodiversity, and improving soil conditions.
Unlike most development on the island, we emphasize a low-density, low-impact approach. Our on-site, two-acre farm is organic practicing and regenerative to help reduce soil erosion and degradation. Instead of relying on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, we opt for natural alternatives like compost and neem oil.
Lemongrass is planted throughout the property to serve as a non-toxic pest deterrent. We’ve also added an on-site retention pond to capture stormwater runoff so that sediments can be filtered from the water before it reaches the ocean.
